An Article on movie "Kapoor & Son's " by Madhu Anand Chandhock

After a very long time I have seen a movie which touches my heart! A movie that one can watch with the entire family together. Everyone can relate to it, be it children, grown ups & adults.
With its simplicity it shows & teaches us the values of a family & it's importance. How our elders(Grandparents) feel the void and loneliness at a very fragile age where they embrace everything like tiny tots with an innocent Child like behaviour. Rishiji's Role in this film is one such of a character, who in order to have his family's attention practice's/Rehearses his own Death time and again which is so funny in a cute way... And to keep the family together and united, his little request of a family portrait again and again forms the crux of his character beautifully in the film.

Brotherly Bonding is seen in this film with various shades ranging from Anger, Fighting, misunderstandings & love.
Ratna Pathak's Irritating/frustrating nature due to which the distance between a husband and wife & bitterness is seen in their relationship.

Every house has small fights sometimes big ones but all these can be resolved with love clearly not by distancing oneself with everyone.
Funniest parts and laugh riots were scenes in which one notices and these brilliantly written one lines for secondary cast like Plumber saying " AB ISS BURE WAQT MEIN AAPKO JO THEEK LAGE DEEDO SAAB ". Boobly's one dialogue throughout the film " THANKS FOR COMING".

Rishiji behaviour of a naughty kid is seen when he repeatedly calls his nurse by pseudo "MOTI BHAIS". His look was the best part so cute and adorable he looked. The show stealer was his climax video with his grandsons which made everyone Emotional at the screening seeing how one man even at respectable age still wishes and believes in uniting the whole family as one. His description and understanding of relations is clearly seen as a sign of wisdom when he speaks about how his daughter in law (Ratna Pathak shah) is broken from within & misses both her sons but still shows a bold face on the out.
Rishiji is truly so lively and excellent in the entire film.

Alia brought in a freshness to the film with an amazing Performance. As an audience one feels the togetherness of a family and extended family & friends through this film.
Dialogue writer SPANDAN MISHRA has done really a commendable job. It feels that as if we were also a part of this KAPOOR Family for those 2 hours and 20mins.

The Captain of the ship Mr.Shakun Batra ,An intelligent and Good Director's quality is clearly seen in every bit of the film from start to finish. Has done a great job in Keeping his audience connected as if we were also a part of this movie. Small nuances such as "PHANTOM FAKE CIGARETTES OF SUGAR" which most of the kids must have had at some point in their lives is been brought back to our lives... A person may grow in age and size but childhood memories are always a dear-some and cherished at every interval of life with same zeal and happiness. One can never forget them no matter what.

Fawad Khan has once again shown his caliber as an actor and performer with great range in his Acting. Whatever kinds or length be the Role. He would do it with finesse and ease.
Casting is the best part.

In this film as we all know that Main Stars are really good performers but even the supporting cast has done a fantastic job. From Plumber to Nepali be it Sid's Friend Wasim ( Sukant Goyal) or his younger bro Boobly  ( Fahim Shaikh) etc... Every Actor has done justice to their respective roles.Hats off to the Casting of the entire film. Every character has done justice to their part. It kept the scene so realistic and alive.

Music was nice & different . 3 songs were a hit in my opinion. This film makes/Sends every human being go deep into their thoughts, a zone where one starts to o these analysis of Family values, taking adequate Care of their elders. Happiness is spread across when the whole family is united and spends quality time which is beautifully depicted sply in one scene in this film where they(Actors) sing & dance on  melodies song " CHAND SI MEHBOOBA HO MERI TUM". Rajat Kapoor once again proves his skills as a veteran. This one scene breaks the ice and reunites them all.

One thing I wish to share with you all us that I am Emotionally involved with this film from the beginning. Whenever my son (Kashyap Chandhock) used to tell me " Maaa today Rishiji s son's part is been locked, mumma today Wasim got finalised. The excitement on his face was one of 5yr old kid jumping out of happiness and satisfaction as if he was rewarded his favourite cookies/Toys/chocolates. It felt great to just watch him and a sense of proud moment in my life.
As my son kashyap Chandhock  was Casting for this film with Panchami Ghavri  and Chinmay. I must say they all have done an amazing job.

Congrats to Dharma team, n i am sure that this film is going to break all the records and will be a super duper hit.
